Full-time Director of Staff Development RN

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Staff Development is to interview, hire, orient, and evaluate Certified Nurse Assistants and orient other long term staff. Perform educational safety and employee health activities as required by Title 22. Cover other shifts as assigned. Oversee the Infection Control Program at Meadowood.
This position requires providing service to one or more age populations including adult through geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

Current CA RN License from accredited RN Program
Current CPR.
CA DSD Certification (preferred)
Min 3 years clinical experience with one (1) year experience in long-term geriatric care preferred.
Demonstrated abilities to apply theories of adult education
Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long term care facilities.
Excellent clinical nursing skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with staff members, residents/patients, their love ones, physicians, and other health professionals..
Ability to assess, monitor and direct and demonstrate improvement of C.N.A. care.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Assessment and planning capabilities with the ability to transfer concepts into practical application.
Ability to self-motivate and work independently
Teaching skills and ability to write course objectives.
